The opportunity for genuine spiritual fulfillment is strengthened when we weave together the ancient wisdom of yoga with the practical tools of recovery. Together they offer us a truly empowering personal program of recovery. Yoga for recovery allows anyone moving through addiction to go deeper as they gain a stronger understanding and connection to Self.
Mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, stress, and insomnia are among the most common reasons for individuals to seek treatment with complementary therapies such as yoga.
Yoga encourages one to relax, slow the breath and focus on the present, shifting the balance from the sympathetic nervous system and the flight-or-fight response to the parasympathetic system and the relaxation response. The best part about yoga is you don’t have to be flexible to do it, and you may even like it. Come as you are; bring diligence and an open mind as you explore all your possibilities.
*Bring a mat and comfortable clothing that allows you to move in.
